Dark  Leafy Vegetables

Dark leafy spinach is very important to prevent greying of hair .The roots of the hair relies mostly on B-6 and vitamin B-12.There are many variety of spinach and all of them are very good for health.

Murrungai Keerai  (Drumstick Leaves ) is very good for hair growth and all problems.

Recipe

Healthy and Delicious drumstick Leaves stir fry

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Bunch or 4 Cups – Drumsticks Leaves
  • 2 tsp – Oil
  • A Pinch – Asafoetida/Hing
  • 1/2 tsp – Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp – Urad Dal
  • 3 – Dried Red Chili
  • 2 tbsp – Grated Coconut
  • To Taste – Salt

Method

  • Wash the leaves well.
  • Add oil in the pan and when hot add mustard seeds,urud dhal, Asafoetida,cumin seeds.
  • When slpatters add the chilli.
  • Add the leaves and salt .
  • Cook well .
  • At the end add the grated coconut.

Eat this Spinach every other day .

 Tips:

You can sacrambled eggs along with the spinach.

Almonds

The major  vitamin E  and copper booster is almonds.Almost every studies show  that almond consumption helps to lower bad cholestral levels,best protein snack and energy booster.

Almond can be eaten just like that but children do not prefer to eat them.Almonds can me mashed and mixed with their regular milk mix so the kids will not be able to recognise the taste .

Almond Kheer(Badam Kheer)

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Almonds
1 tablespoon Ghee, optional
1½ cups  Milk
2½ tablespoons Sugar (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
4-5 Saffron strands (kesar)
Water

 Method

1.Place almonds in a bowl and pour 1 cup boiling water.

2.Allow it to soak for 20 mins and drain it.

3.Remove the skin of the almonds.

4.Grind the almonds with water into a paste.

5.Add ghee in a pan and cook the almond paste until brown.

6.Add milk and mix well un til there are no lumps and bring to boil .

7.When boiled add sugar,cardamom powder and mix well.

8.Let it cool for sometime or even chilled (optional).

9.Pour the almond kheer in a serving dish and sprinkle saffron strands over the the kheer.

 

Chocolate

Chocolate is very rich in copper and it boosts melanin production all over the body. But eating pure dark chocolates is more beneficial than eating the regular chocolates. It will give maximum benefits and still not overload your system with calories.

 

Fish

Fish is very much rich in protein and selenium which helps in the production of hormone.Eating fish regularly helps to prevent greying of hair.Make sure that they are not deep fried.But for Children it dosent matter.

Method:

  • Wash the fish well with rock salt water and drain the water out.
  • Add 1 tsp of pepper and salt as per taste in a bowl.
  • For more flavour add any type of fish seasoning in the bowl or just add a little bit of chilli powder and mix well.
  • Add 1 tsp of soysauce and mix well.
  • Marinate the fish in this mixture for 1 hr.
  • In a pan add a little bit of oil and cook the fish until brown on both the sides.
  • For children deep fry the fish in oil and serve .They will love it.

 Berries

All berries like strawberries,raspberries,blueberries,cranberries,blackberries,gooseberries all of them a very rich in vitamins and minerals.They are also rich in antioxidants.Include these berries in your regular diet which prevents greying of hair.Make berry smoothies for kids and they will love it when served with ice cream or chilled.
