Once you are in the site click on the Get Started Button to visit the Adsense sign up page.

Once on the page you will be guided through to add your Google account to the Adsense feature of Google. If you do not have a Google account you can sign up for a Google account in the same page as shown below.

Once you have a Google account and you need to state the contents of your site to Google. Make sure that your have read the Adsense program guidelines that are given by Google and adhere to them or you will be penalized by Google which might involve losing the Adsense account and all the earnings that remain with Google which is not a very pleasant thing.

Now once you have competed this reading the guidelines for Adsense publishers and have provided the required data regarding your sites content to Google you can add your address details in the next step which will allow Google to send you your payment. Make sure you have your bank details or your PayPal details available which will make it easy for you to get the payment electronically. Otherwise the payment from Google Adsense will have to be made by check which is a very slow process.

Once you have applied for Adsense and Google approves your account for Adsense log into your Google Adsense account.

Once you click on the My Ads links Google Adsense will direct you to the page where you can create your ads as shown below.

Click on the new Ad Unit button as shown above

Once you have been directed to the new ad unit page you can enter the name of your adunit. Keep it simple such as your_website_name_AdSize e.g. Mypage.com_728_90 which will correspond to an ad on website called Mypage.com with a width of 728 pixesl and 90 pixels height.

Select the best combination of colors and text designs you want to show in the ad and click on Save and Get Code Button.

This will bring up a page with you code.

Copy this code into notepad.

 

Adsense Monetization in WordPress Step 3 (Copy the Adsense code to your WordPress Blog)

Now that you have the code for Adsense ads copied in notepad you can log into your wordpress blog admin account.

Click on the Appearance menu of the wordpress dashboard

Sub menu for widgets should now pop up.

Click on the Widgets link in the submenu

Scroll down to select the Text Widget

Once you select the Text Widget drag it over to the Main Side Bar Menu on the right of the page.

Now click on the text widget which you have placed in the side bar and you should see a text box open allowing you to enter text.

Copy and paste the contents of the ad which we saved in the notepad to the large text box (leave the title field empty)

Click on the save button.

Now reopen your blog in a web browser and you should be able to your Google Adsense ads in the menu of your blog.
